Substation Safety

**About the role**:

- We’re looking for a Substation Safety & Operational Trainer to join our Technical Training team at our Eakring Training Centre.Working as a Safety Trainer you’ll design and deliver innovative substation courses primarily focusing on safety and technical training for National Grid employees. You’ll specifically focus on the delivery and development of authorisation training such as Competent Person, Authorised Person, and Senior Authorised Person.You’ll have the chance to deliver across the whole engineering spectrum and can look to be involved in numerous technical courses that are delivered on National Grid HV, LV and Mechanical Equipment such as Circuit Breakers, Transformers, Tap Changers, Isolators, Earth Switches, Battery Systems and Air Systems. On successful deployment to the team, this role will facilitate personal career progression and leadership opportunities.This is a great opportunity for a craftsperson or engineer who wants to work for a progressive, and reputable organisation, and have a tangible influence on the development and growth of the next generation of National Grid Engineers.Training will be delivered primarily at our Eakring Training Centre but travel may be needed to alternative training centres and operational sites throughout the UK. Occasional international travel may be required.**What we're looking for**:

- Recognised Level 3 Engineering Advanced Apprenticeship
- National Grid Senior Authorised Person 1/2/3 authorisation as defined in NSI 30
- Sound knowledge of substation and maintenance/installation techniques and practices.
- Sound understanding of The National Grid Electricity Transmission System.
- Able to lead and manage work teams (Person in Charge).
- Previous training experience, knowledge sharing, development and coaching of others would be advantageous.
