**Job Role**: Supported Housing Worker
**Salary**:£24,500 per year
**Hours**:37.5 hours per week
**Contract type**:Fixed Term Contract - 6 months - with the possibility to become permanent
**Location**:Shepton Mallet - Mendip
**Additional information**:
- Travel required across Mendip to cover accommodation across 2 locations
- Participation in an on-call rota (1 in every 4 weeks), £100 per week when on-call
- Participation in a rostered system of working with shifts between the hours of 08:00 AM and 20:00 PM, weekend work required (every other weekend)
**The Role**
We are dedicated to offering a high-quality support and housing management service to homeless people across Mendip with low to medium-level support needs, with the aim to help them achieve more independence.
We are seeking a Supported Housing Worker to join our team to ensure the day-to-day running of the project runs smoothly and clients are supported. You will be responsible for maintaining client records and supporting clients with their individual support plans and needs, all whilst providing a high-quality, safe and person-centred service.
**Responsibilities include**:
- Delivery of a high-quality off the street accommodation service for individuals rough sleeping within Mendip
- Complete holistic assessments for clients leading to the development of support plans which meet individual client goals
- Build positive and effective working relationships and agreements with relevant external agencies
- Give clients advice, information and provide an enabling service for that they can be signposted to, and access, appropriate services to develop independence
- Provide an effective Housing Management service for clients and identified properties
- Carry out, within reason, any other duties necessary to achieve the smooth running of the service and undertake other organisational duties, which are broadly in line with the above key responsibilities
**Qualifications / Requirements**:
- A valid UK driving license and access to own vehicle - business insurance will be required for roles involving travel for work
- Understanding of the causes of homelessness and social exclusion and approaches which seek to address these
