The Civils Category Manager position will manage and develop Civils product categories within the Group and control stock & profitability. Develop commercial relationships with supply chain to grow direct and stock trading.

**Responsibilities include but not limited to**:
**Product Development**
- Growing relationships with Civil supply chain to enhance the long-term ambitions of the growing business
- Deliver improved product ranging by enhanced engagement with customers, branch staff and suppliers
- Implementation of product ranges including brand hierarchy and product launches
- Product gap analysis of current and growing customer base
- Organising regular supplier product training to ensure continued development of branch teams
- Monthly Category reviews and reporting to Purchasing Director detailing sales & margin information, stock overview and OTIF supplier reports
- Managing monthly product meetings with branch staff on product development
- Managing Supplier Promotional Calendars
- Work with Buying Group and support Group negotiations
- Support growing ecommerce function
- Commercial support for sales department

**Purchase Control**
- Control of sales and margin through analysis of category, supplier and salesperson
- Control of economic order qty’s to maximise buying efficiencies
- Market price analysis to retain competitive structure
- Key product allocation projections
- Maintaining all ERP purchasing and sales data together with Data team

The role is a complete **Purchase to Sale** remit including all marketing and sales necessary to develop product areas.

**Desirable**
- 5 year+ progressive experience in within the Civils sector
- Excellent communication skills
- Solid negotiating track record meeting cost reduction targets
- Excellent IT skills in particular Microsoft Excel
- Ability to multi task with awareness of deadlines
- Fully focused **Purchase to Sale** attitude
- Works well within a TEAM dynamic
