Chemical Process Engineer sought for an established manufacturing company who are one of the biggest in their sector.

The role would suit a Chemical Process Engineer with strong experience with elastomeric materials within a production environment. Applicants with a Degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering are desirable.

Working closely with the Operations team, you will optimise plant processes and resolve production issues. The role will also have a focus on collecting and analysing both raw materials and finished products to ensure high quality of factory output. Youwill support new product development and plant trials of novel elastomeric materials by performing chemical and mechanical analysis. You will then produce reliable, accurate data and keep accurate records of laboratory work undertaken and results.

The role:

- Optimising plant processes and resolving production issues
- Analysing both raw materials and finished products to ensure high quality of factory output
- Supporting new product development and plant trials of elastomeric materials
- Performing chemical and mechanical analysis in the laboratory following Standard Operating Procedures
- Using industry-standard instrumentation and laboratory equipment
- Produce reliable, accurate data and keep accurate data of wok undertaken and results

The person:

- Understanding of thermosetting elastomeric materials
- A logical, critical-thinking approach to problem solving with the ability to seek creative solutions
- A hands-on, practical mindset with an understanding of industrial processing equipment
- Ability to communicate effectively with suppliers, operations staff and technical colleagues
- Sound IT skills including Microsoft Excel and Word
- A Degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering or similar is desirable
