An R&D company based in Hereford designing complex wireless electronics products / systems are looking for an R&D Test Engineer to help improve and develop new products within their design team.

Key responsibilities of the R&D Test Engineer job:

- Work with software and hardware development engineers as part of a multidisciplinary project team and will suit someone who is interested in challenging new technologies
- Test and diagnose hardware and software and generate bug reports
- Develop and write detailed test plans, procedures and test reports
- Liaise with and visit product compliance test houses to perform EN54 compliance testing of prototype and production units including EMC immunity and radiation tests and radio performance tests. This will require some amount of travel to site
- Aid development of Automated Test Equipment (ATE) for production line testing and take responsibility for its configuration, maintenance, repair and calibration.
- Diagnose product failures in production

Key skills required for the R&D Test Engineer job:

- A minimum 5 years of proven experience as a Test Engineer in product development and good understanding of product development lifecycle including production.
- Experience in board bring-up is essential for supporting hardware knowledge.
- Experience of generating tests plans from requirement specifications or use cases.
- Experience with production test processes
