Calling all Nursing Associates. An exciting opportunity has arisen within South Tyneside Community Treatment Team. We are looking to recruit caring and compassionate Nursing Associates with excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work as part of our multi-disciplinary team offering assessment and treatment to clients experiencing moderate to severe mental health difficulties. Your responsibilities will include treatment of clients experiencing mental health difficulties, working closely with families and other professionals.

Our team is divided into psychosis and non-psychosis pathways and there are excellent training and development opportunities for you to increase your skills and knowledge in these areas. This role requires an element of autonomous working and you will be working independently under the leadership of registered nurses in the team.

It is essential that you are registered with the NMC as a Nursing Associate.

We provide excellent training opportunities to allow you to deliver NICE guidance treatment. You will work closely with the Multi-Disciplinary team including CPN’s, Occupational Therapists, Psychology/Psychological Therapist, Consultant Psychiatrist, Clinical Support Assistants and Peer Supporter. You will receive regular supervision both on an individual basis and in a group setting and will work closely with other CNTW services and local agencies.

assess and manage risk and escalate accordingly

South Tyneside Community Treatment Team is focused on delivering high standards of care and interventions to clients presenting with moderate to severe mental health difficulties. We aim to be a proactive and dynamic team of mental health professionals, meeting the ever increasing demands on community services.

We understand how important it is to have the right skills and therefore the provision of training is very important to us. Supervision is essential and you will be offered regular clinical and managerial supervision to support you in your role and development.

The Nursing Associate is a Nursing and Midwifery (NMC) registered professional with accountability and responsibility for their practice, evidence based decision making, working within the limits of their competence

They have a breadth of knowledge across the lifespan and across the fields of nursing, providing holistic and person centred care and support for people of all ages and in a variety of settings.

The Nursing Associate works independently under the leadership of Registered Nurses, working within all aspects of the nursing process.
Nursing Associates are equipped with the knowledge, understanding, skills, attitudes and behaviours consistent with NTW values.

**They will understand and act in accordance with the NMC Code**: Professional Standards of Practice and Behaviours for Nurses, Midwives and Nursing Associates and fulfil all registration requirements.

They will provide compassionate care that is based on empathy, kindness, respect and dignity.

To comply with the NMC Standards of Proficiency for Nursing Associates (October 2018) which relates to the following platforms

2. Promoting health and preventing ill health
3. Provide and monitor care
4. Working in teams
5. Improving safety and quality of care
6. Contributing to integrated care
Communication and relationship management skills
Specific procedures as listed

They will ensure that the care they deliver is compassionate, competent, and courageous underpinned by a commitment to high standards and effective communication.
