McClarrons is an independent insurance brokerage with our head office in Malton, North Yorkshire. We specialise in a number of niche sectors, including Commercial, Care & Social Welfare (including Not for Profit), Farm and Art & Private Clients (high net worth) and have clients (and team members) up and down the country. We also have an in-house Claims Team - they provide invaluable support to our clients when they need it most. When the worst does happen, our Claims Team will manage a client’s claim from notification to final settlement, taking some of the stress and pressure away and making the process much easier and more efficient for clients.

**The role**

As a Claims Handler, you will provide McClarrons' clients with quality insurance advice and support in the event of a claim, whilst delivering an excellent quality of customer service.

Full training will be provided as needed, enabling you to fulfil assessing clients' circumstances, collating the required information for insurers and third parties to process a claim and ultimately, getting the best possible result for clients.

You will oversee the technical administration for clients' claims and be their main point of contact for any claims queries and updates. You will work closely with the Sales and Account Handling Teams to maintain client relationships, analyse insurance contracts and settle claims for clients.

**Job details**:

- Liaise with clients as needed to maintain contact, update them on claim progress and support them with any queries (once a detailed knowledge of insurance has been gained)
- Efficiently and accurately process claims for clients from notification through to settlement payment being made
- Source and collate the appropriate information and data from clients and third parties to validate claims
- Negotiate with insurers on behalf of clients
- Achieve KPI targets as communicated by your Manager
- Build and maintain relationships with your colleagues (both internal and external) to support achieving the best outcomes for our clients

**Helpful skills (but not required)**:

- Business or financial-related degree or qualification(s)
- Experience working within a regulatory framework or FCA compliance
- Wide social interests
- CII or other relevant qualifications
- Insurance Claims Handling experience
- Customer Service experience
- Experience with Acturis

**Salary**: £21,000.00-£26,000.00 per year
