Band 4 Technical Instructor (Therapy Assistant) - Paediatric Neurodevelopmental Physiotherapy -26.25hrs/week

We are looking for a dynamic Band 4 Technical Instructor to join our Paediatric Physiotherapy Team in the Family Care Division at Bolton NHS Foundation Trust. This exciting opportunity is suitable for skilled and motivated therapy assistants, who are attracted to the specialism and wish to develop their knowledge and skills. You will be working in a range of community settings including nurseries, schools, health centres and patient homes alongside other members of the multidisciplinary team. Excellent time management skills are required to manage your own caseload.

- To use a range of communication tools to effectively communicate with and gather information from service users/carers including clients who may have difficulties understanding or communicating e.g. speech and language difficulties or learning difficulties.
- Under the guidance/supervision of a registered physiotherapist continually assess and adjust own clinical intervention based on the fluctuating needs of the child to ensure appropriate treatment intervention.
- To independently organise and carry out physiotherapy intervention in the clients home, clinic or educational setting either in relation to assessment and provision of equipment or to carry out other therapeutic activity with an assigned caseload under the direction of a registered therapist.
- To prepare the patient and environment for therapeutic intervention when required. To use risk assessment skills when delivering therapy programmes and provision/review of equipment.
- To provide Aquatic Therapy programmes under the supervision of a registered physiotherapist in order to achieve identified goals.
- To work independently in a community, educational or clinical setting with an assigned caseload under the direction of a registered therapist.
- To assess with, provide, demonstrate the use of specialist equipment under the supervision of a registered therapist.
- To physically move and handle patients or equipment within health and safety guidelines, in a variety of settings.
