**TAX ASSISTANT / SHERBORNE - HYBRID WORKING OPTIONS**

**Location**: Sherborne, Dorset / Hybrid

**Job type**: Permanent contract

**Reporting to**: Tax Manager

**Hours**: Monday to Friday 08:30am - 17:15pm

**Salary**: £25,000 - £35,000 per annum, dependent on experience and qualifications

Hawk 3 Talent Solutions, operating as an employment agency, are currently recruiting for a Tax Assistant to join our client in Sherborne, Dorset on a full time permanent contract.

**Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Maintain personal tax records for worldwide information as transactions happen for UK self-assessment returns

Ensure all returns and payments are submitted on time

Assist with capital gains computations

Preparation of income and expenditure information for sole traders tax return and for property rental income

Maintain EIS / SEIS relief tax records for investments qualifying under these venture capital schemes

Preparing claim forms and tracking relief claims and withdrawals

Working with the wider Investment Team on investment planning to utilize available tax reliefs

Preparation of VAT returns for a sole trader whose VAT information feeds into their tax returns

Completion of international tax reporting forms to banks and investment companies for individuals and businesses

Undertake ad-hoc tax and investment related projects and research as required

Provide technical support for the Payroll Department researching questions on payroll and staff benefits taxes

**About you**:

- Keen to progress within your career in Tax

Attained or currently studying for the Association of Taxation Technicians (AAT) qualification

Minimum of 18 months relevant experience, preferable in a Practice environment

Confident, flexible and willing to gain further experience in the workplace

Committed and highly organized

Proactive approach

Excellent administration and communication skills

Able to deal with confidential information

Able to develop relationships with a wide range of people

Able to take ownership of tasks and follow them through to the end

Excellent IT skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office

Experience using accounting software is advantageous
