In this Consultant Graduate Scheme - Sustainable Building in North-West England, you will be joining a market-leading and award-winning (listed in the 50 fastest growing companies across Yorkshire) independently owned insulation supplier. Since its foundation,it has spread across the UK with branches located from Sheffield and Birmingham to London employing just shy of 200 staff.
In 2020, it developed a new arm of the business providing in-house technical consultancy services to their clients ranging from; Energy assessments, 2D & 3D thermal calculations, and acoustic specifications and has since grown from the founding team of 2 to16, based in Haydock This business is also proud to be Carbon Neutral (for 2 years)
Job description - Graduate Building Consultant
In this Graduate Construction job in Haydock, you will be kicking off your career acting as a Sustainable Building Consultant using your engineering degree to provide technical services to customers in return for the procurement of construction materials.
Within this role, you'll find yourself undertaking SAP energy assessments and other efficiency calculations. You'll work with customers to turn their technical building plans into specification-ready quotes adhering to the building regulations and standards.This is all whilst being provided with the relevant training to become a qualified On Construction Domestic Energy Assessor (OCDEA).
Key responsibilities - Graduate Building Consultant
In this Junior Engineering job in Merseyside, your responsibilities will include:
- You'll be undertaking SAP energy assessments and U-values/CRA calculations
- Ensuring that technical work and quotes are completed promptly and within the quoted timescales
- Speaking and advising confidently about; building systems, products, regulations, and standards
- Comprehension of technical terminology and calculations
- Knowledge of construction materials with experience in value engineering and system selling
- Communicating technically with stakeholders from across the industry
- Spotting opportunities to provide additional chargeable technical services
- Keeping abreast of industry changes and innovations
- You will gain a wide range of skills and experience through continuous on-the-job development with coaching and mentoring
Job requirements - Graduate Building Consultant
- A graduate with a degree in Construction, Architecture, the Built Environment, or Sustainability related discipline
- Accuracy and attention to detail with the ability to deliver very high standards of work
- Solution orientated with the ability to problem-solve
- Strong organisational skills - time management and ability to prioritise workload
- Working collaboratively and effectively communicating with customers, colleagues, and manufacturers
- You're a genuine team player and will go above and beyond to support your colleagues
- You have an innate sense of responsibility and are happy to work independently and support others
- Any previous experience working within the construction or building industry would be advantageous
