Machine Operator

Start People are currently recruiting for Machine operators for our growing client in Maghull.

This position will be responsible for the effective operation of a bagging and packing machine, and will include being trained up as a primary operator for a new machine, in addition to taking ownership of the machine/area.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Operating the Sandiacre machine to produce high-quality packaged materials
- Start-up checks and setting up a multifunctional bagging machine
- Ensuring machine is operating at target pack per minute
- Diagnosing & escalating machinery breakdown problems
- Completing paperwork to the required standard
- Performing changeovers and ensuring downtime is minimised
- Monitoring production output and quality, making adjustments as necessary to meet customer requirements
- Ensuring food hygiene, food safety and health & safety practices are adhered to
- Be responsible for a small team of production operative workers

**PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE**:

- Proven experience operating and setting packaging/bagging machinery or similar equipment
- Strong mechanical and technical skills
- Ability to work under pressure independently and as part of a team
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Prepared to support and develop 'best in class'
- Ability to work in a fast paced and changing environment

**HOURS AND PAY**:

- 4 on, 4 off
- 06:00-18:00
- £13.15ph, overtime paid x1.5
- Weekly pay every Friday
