Basic rate: £11.20 equated, travelling expenses for mileage will also be paid.
Accountable To: Unit Manager
Required to wear uniform as per company guidelines
As a Mobile Cook your overall role is to produce the required products on the menu, using fresh ingredients and making the products from fresh. You will be responsible for covering holidays and sickness absence and will travel to a number of sites within the North Yorkshire area, therefore it is essential that you are able to drive. You will also be responsible for preparing, all cleaning duties and cooking, storing all utensils and crockery in the correct areas, operate and maintain the efficient running of the kitchen equipment e.g. dishwashing machine.
Maintain high standards and ensure all kitchen surfaces (including walls and floors) and equipment are kept clean to minimise the risk of accidents and maintain high standards of hygiene. You will ensure that all waste (dry and wet) is disposed of safely and in line with legislation and policy and procedure.
You will also be required to put away all deliveries promptly and ensure the stockroom is clean and accessible.
**Duties**:
- Preparation of food and cooking
- Cooking meals to the menu requirements
- Serving meals ensuring correct portion control
- Serving customers in a polite and friendly manner
- Cleaning kitchen, it’s surrounds and equipment
- General kitchen duties e.g. washing up
- Using the equipment
- Ensure food hygiene and health and safety regulation are adhered to at all times
- Adhere to existing and new working practices, methods, procedures and respond positively to new and alternative systems
- Taking an active part in any unit sales promotions
- Participate in training and development
- Carry out ad hoc duties as directed by Unit Manager
- Supporting the Unit Manager and providing cover in their absence
**Skills**:
- Experience of producing homemade savoury dishes and home baking (sweet products)
- Must be able to drive
- Minimum of an NVQ in Cookery/Hospitality would be required
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to promote a welcoming environment to our customers
- Polite and friendly
- Punctual
- Work well under pressure
- Good understanding of food hygiene is essential
- Experience of working with food previously is essential
- Neat and tidy in appearance
- A ‘can do’ attitude, prepared to assist the rest of the team
