**Transport Co-Ordinator - Nationwide Organisation**

**Contract, Full Time**

**£16 PH**

**Job Purpose**:

- Responsible for supervision of the Stores staff in the performance of their daily duties, performing all related management tasks including training and, in conjunction with others, staff schedules
- Ensure that work and equipment is safe to use and that appropriate risk assessments and method statements are followed, managing day-to-day safe working practices and escalating issues to an Operations Manager
- Act as the main contact for the all operational staff, including when a more senior manager is not present, ensuring that communication between all areas is clear and precise
- Efficiently manage the allocation, issuing, maintenance and hire of equipment ensuring the best use of resources
- Resolve equipment and consumable shortages, issuing, purchasing and hire queries from craft staff and stores operatives and initiate new and improved systems and procedures where appropriate
- Arrange for the movement of equipment between OB sites, in order to reduce costs and increase the efficiency of the operation

**Essential Experience**:

- A thorough and excellent knowledge of and familiarity of all the equipment held in the Radio OB Stores and on the Radio OB Fleet, and a reason for its use. Also to have a knowledge of alternatives that can be offered in place of unavailable equipment.
- Knowledge of safety and welfare regulations and standing instructions relating to the Stores operation
- Experience of a high degree of problem solving and decision making.
- Experience of working quickly and accurately under pressure, to constantly changing deadlines. Use of initiative and ability to work flexibility
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build and sustain working relationships within craft, resource and production areas.
