**Hours**:07:00 - 17:30, Monday - Sunday 30 minute unpaid break, working on a rota system with 3 other Chargehands

**What you'll be doing;**
- Assisting the Operational Manager in ensuring the high standard of operational service with a key focus on the Health and Safety of our people and the general public.
- Carrying out training with the workforce and promoting a robust sustainable safety culture.
- Maintaining accurate records, monitoring checks and timely accident investigations and ensuring that any accident is responded to immediately and fully investigated.
- Liaising with the Client Officers to resolve any routine problems and inform them of any future intentions. Update the client on daily activities and provide progress reports throughout your shift.
- Reviewing and analysing operational data/service information to ensure that excellence in service delivery is maintained to maximum effectiveness, whilst building a culture of continuous improvement in the team to maximise contract performance, profitability and quality.
- Participating in daily and monthly contract monitoring surveys and assisting with generating associated written reports.
- Deputising for your Operational Support Manager when required.
- Operate the necessary plant equipment involved in the handling, sorting and transferring of waste.
- Ensuring the yard area is kept clean and tidy.
- Ability to cover Operation of weighbridge activities at times (Training provided)
- Marshalling vehicle movement around the site at busy times.

**What we're looking for;**
- Mobile Plant Experience to include but not essential: Loading Shovel (full training can be given)
- Ability to supervise and train employees including organising, prioritising and scheduling work assignments to meet timelines.
- Ability to work with limited supervision and demonstrate strong initiative.
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment and prioritise tasks.
- Good knowledge and background on Health and Safety working in the Waste Ancillary and Collections environment.
- Flexibility to work varied hours Monday to Sunday
- Discuss job performance with staff members to identify and develop and support them.
- Good communication skills.
- Be able to work as part of a team.
