This position is to work Monday-Friday, full-time, long-term, from 8:30am-3.30pm each day. The pay rate is from £83 - £95 per day commensurate with experience and qualifications.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Work with students who may be struggling with their mental health and provide support to improve their chances of returning to their mainstream schooling.
- Provide support to the teaching staff in the delivery of the curriculum.
- Work with students on emotional resilience, strategies to cope with anxiety and build social skills.
- Supervise students during break times and lunchtimes.
- Attend meetings and training sessions as required.

The school is an **inclusion provision** based in Eastleigh, Hampshire. It works with 12 Hampshire schools and provides education, engagement, and inspiration to students who have been permanently excluded or are at risk of permanent exclusion, are medically unwell, or are emotionally vulnerable.

Their curriculum is designed to provide education, engagement, and inspiration to students who may not be able to attend mainstream schools. The centre works with students who have Social Emotional and Mental Health difficulties, Communication and Interaction difficulties, and Cognition and Learning difficulties.

All pupils who attend the school benefit from the Active curriculum as a part of their daily timetable. The curriculum aims to support children to improve emotional resilience, gain a positive impact upon mental and physical health through daily activity, enable greater understanding of team working and personal responsibility.

Students attend for two lessons per day and work with staff on emotional resilience, strategies to cope with anxiety and build social skills alongside taking part in a core curriculum offer of English Language, English literature, maths, science and history.

The wider curriculum offered to pupils is broad and rich. For example, pupils have opportunities to work with animals, learn how to live an independent life and have access to high-quality work experience and careers guidance. Some pupils also attend local care farms and complete separate qualifications offered by these organisations.

The school provides a supportive environment for students who may be struggling with their mental health. The centre’s Active curriculum aims to support children to improve emotional resilience, gain a positive impact upon mental and physical health through daily activity, enable greater understanding of team working and personal responsibility.

All teachers and support staff are given information about the pupils’ needs via Pupil Support Information sheets which are distributed on the arrival of individual pupils. Teaching and support staff receive training on SEND to improve their knowledge of SEND. Learning Support Assistants (LSA ‘s) are deployed across curriculum areas to help pupils with SEND.
