We have a new opportunity for a Wedding & Events Co-ordinator to join our team. If you are looking to progress your career as a wedding co-ordinator and have either an events qualification or hospitality/events experience, this might be the role for you
Melville Castle is a Picturesque Castle Hotel with 33 bedrooms and is a popular wedding and events destination. The Castle joined the Original Collection in May 2021 and has been refurbished over the past year with an exciting vision and future ahead.
As the Wedding & Events Co-ordinator you will be responsible for:
- Organise the events on the system and produce function sheets.
- Managing client enquiries ensuring relevant information is communicate efficiently.
- Develop a close working relationship with regular clients and work on expanding this client base.
- Pro-actively prospect new business through sales calls, site inspections, networking and attending trade shows.
- Assist the Assistant General Manager with regular reporting including forecasts, conversion and production.
- Keep up to date with current market trends and share this knowledge with the team.
- Assist in creating offers and promotions where appropriate.
- Liaise with all departments across the hotel to ensure its smooth running.
The perfect person:
To be successful in this role you will be a confident highly-motivates individual who is committed to achieve results. You will be extremely organised and have the ability to manage and prioritise a busy workload and tasks to deadlines. You will need to be flexible regarding working hours and be happy to meet with clients post regular office hours.
In addition, you will have:
- Office-based experience demonstrating high levels of organisation and coordination
- Previous sales experience and be confident discussing event logistics, negotiate rates to yield highest possible rate and up-sell at every opportunity
- Strong communication skills both verbally and in writing
- IT literate, including Microsoft Word & Excel and the ability to update monthly statistics
About you:
- Your passionate about wedding and events and can demonstrate a genuine interest.
- You have excellent attention to detail, vital for ensuring every event is a success and runs smoothly.
- You will have high standards of personal presentation able to confidently represent the Hotel and its high standards.
- You have the ability to establish rapport and deliver high standards of service with a friendly, warm genuine and approachable manner.
- It is also highly desirable, but not essential, if you have pervious experience with organising weddings, meetings and events as well as working with conference agents and high-end.
