**Overview**:
STEM Recruitment Solutions are seeking a skilled CHP Plant Operator to ensure the seamless and safe operation of our client’s Combined Heat and Power (CHP) plant. The primary responsibility of this role is to maintain operational efficiency while adhering to safety protocols. The operator will oversee the chip drying process, utilising equipment such as belt dryers, walking floors, and silos to meet production requirements.

**Role Responsibilities**:

- Execute routine operations and maintenance tasks to maximise CHP plant availability.
- Adhere to maintenance schedules to ensure uninterrupted 24/7 operation.
- Perform tasks at heights, including clearing blocked sensors and greasing bearings and conveyors.
- Ensure continuous operation of belt dryers by maintaining optimal levels of wet wood chips.
- Operate heavy machinery, such as Volvo bucket loaders, telehandlers, and forklifts.
- Load fuel onto walking floors using equipment like Volvo bucket loaders.
- Maintain proper fuel mix ratios (Bark, Butt Chips, and Dried Chips) as directed by the CHP Manager/Supervisor.
- Record and analyse daily and weekly operational data, including density samples, moisture content, calorific values, and meter readings.
- Ensure plant readiness for full operation by organising tasks such as ash container emptying and silo truck loading.
- Respond promptly to system alarms and take corrective actions to restore operational parameters.
- Uphold cleanliness standards in the work environment.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the CHP Manager/Supervisor.

**Role Requirements**:

- Proficiency in mechanical equipment operation, including filters, heat exchangers, pipelines, valves, and vessels.
- Knowledge of rotating equipment such as pumps, fans, compressors, and motors.

**Work Schedule**:

- 4on,4off schedule
- 2 days followed by 2 nights
- 7am/pm - 7pm/am

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £35,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
