Desktop Surveyor

We’ve been laying the foundations here at our Home Claims department. Due to product growth, we have two brand new roles to join us as a Desktop Surveyor.

You will be responsible for providing a customer focused and cost effective service through virtual surveying. You will assess our customers’ property damage, the need for remediation, or replacement, using the relevant software. You will aim to settle the claim for the customer and follow/contribute towards Hasting’s Home Claims philosophies.

By virtually assessing the scene of the loss/event, you will gather relevant information, document findings and prepare and deliver claim decisions and solutions to our customers.

We’re flexible in terms of location too You can be based at either our Bexhill or Leicester offices on a hybrid basis.

What will you be doing?- Investigating, managing and reporting on a varied range of surveyed claims- Liaising with customers, determining policy cover and legal liability investigations and established the loss value and associated costs- Handling and desktop settling a full and varied range of incidents- Ensuring all claims are managed properly, fairly and with integrity and produce reporting which demonstrates this- Maintaining high standards of communication with internal stakeholders and providing information on significant claims trends- Participating in the policy wording and claim handling enhancement working group and contribute to the claims auditing process

What are we looking for?- Experience of investigating and handling domestic property claims- Excellent commercial knowledge of current case law and settlement methods- Thorough understanding of building regulations and market pricing- In-depth knowledge of flood/escape of water/fire damage management best practice and principles- Claims scoping and management software experience- Excellent knowledge of ABI market agreements
