**Key Accountabilities**:
The postholder will be responsible for the delivery of several policy, regulatory and/or compliance work areas. The areas of work associated with this role will include:

- Clearly and persuasively articulate the benefits of interconnectors and their role in achieving net-zero
- Possess a detailed understanding of how the regulatory frameworks and commercial arrangements for interconnectors interact in order to assess potential opportunities and risks, developing strategies to optimise value
- Proactively engage internally (internal stakeholders, senior management) to present analysis, ensuring that our positions are clearly articulated and acted upon
- Deputise for the Regulation Manager and represent the team / business at meetings (e.g. with Ofgem or Government) and industry events as required
- Support the training and guidance of more junior team members
- Determine and steer the strategic response to potential regulatory or policy developments that may impact the value of our interconnectors and develop risk mitigation strategies for responding to those
- Represent the interests of Interconnectors externally, in bilateral meetings with Ofgem, Government and other industry parties, and at associated working groups and industry forums
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements within the organisation, delivering regulatory changes effectively and within agreed timescales

To do this role effectively, you will need to be able to process complex information and explain the key considerations in simple terms.

Good attention to detail is required given the financial and reputational value of work involved.

You will need to have good stakeholder management skills, as you will interact with numerous internal and external stakeholders.

Finally, the postholder must be a strong team player with a willingness to help colleagues and a commitment to ensuring the team’s delivery of high-quality output.

Knowledge and experience related to GB energy market regulation is required.
