Chester, United Kingdom Corus International Full time

**About CGA**

CGA Technologies is a UK registered international consultancy firm established in 2011 that delivers scalable and sustainable technology systems that propel countries towards their development goals. We have offices and/or programmes in South Sudan, Kenya, Sierra Leone, Mali, Malawi, Uganda, and Ukraine.

In partnership with governments, the private and civil sectors, and local communities, we work to achieve sustainable change through the transformation of national systems to be accountable and inclusive and empower people to access basic services and the support they need to break the cycle of poverty.

CGA Technologies is part of Corus International, an ensemble of organisations working in concert to deliver the holistic, lasting solutions needed to overcome these interrelated challenges. Together with our local partners, we reduce poverty at the same time as improving communities' health.

**About the Fellowship Programme**

CGA's fellowship programme is a scheme to give a cadre of new or recent graduates, with an appetite for experience in international development, an opportunity to build relationships, skills, and experience. The fellowship will provide you with a chance to learn and gain skills in different roles and develop a better understanding of the development and humanitarian sectors and different aspects of developmental and humanitarian programming.

As a fellow, you will have the opportunity to work on projects that based match your skills, experience, and interests. You will be a key part of our team, working closely with senior CGA staff, and we will expect you to use your skills and abilities to contribute to the successful implementation of our projects. You will be expected to be flexible and able to take on different tasks and responsibilities as and when needed.

In 2016 the scheme won an award from the UK Department for International Development for "youth development and social mobility". Since then, we have hired more than twenty Fellows through this scheme who have been involved in all our key projects. Our fellows have worked throughout South Sudan, Malawi and Sierra Leone, working on projects funded by the UK, EU, Germany, the World Bank, UNICEF, Save the Children, and foundations.

Almost all our previous Fellows are still engaged in International Development: a number still with us in increasingly senior roles while others have gone on to other opportunities. Some have joined the United Nations system, serving in South Sudan and Afghanistan amongst other places; others are with NGOs or humanitarian organisations; others have joined governmental departments in the UK, EU and Netherlands; some have returned to academia.

In terms of speciality areas, we have fellows who brought or went on to develop specialised skills and experience in education, cash transfer programming, health, software development and advanced data analysis and visualisation skills.

**What We are Looking For**

We are looking for high-achieving, high-potential colleagues to come and join our team. Following induction, our new fellows might start working in one of our country offices (Malawi, Sierra Leone, or South Sudan), but can potentially go anywhere we work.

We particularly welcome applicants from or with ties to the Global South. We strive for equality in all senses in our recruitment and consider our diversity our strength.

Generally, we are looking for people who have:

- Interest in international development or humanitarian sphere, notably in education, social protection, governance, cash programming, data management and technology for development.
- A genuine care for the people and communities in which we work.
- A positive attitude, and a will to be flexible for the projects we work on.
- A collaborative mindset - experience working in diverse settings to achieve a goal, and a willingness to both learn from and share knowledge with colleagues.
- Good analytical skills - creative thinking and problem solving.
- Evidence of strong writing skills.
- Good Excel and PowerPoint skills.
- Ambition to grow within the company (including specialising in areas in which we work);

**Some specific current priorities**

In the context of the complex and at-scale things we are doing, and the range of places we are working, we are particularly interested in recruiting people with one or more of the following skills:

- Qualitative and quantitative skills, including proficiency in Excel, R, Stata, Metabase, and/or PowerBI.
- Experience designing research, collecting data, and writing up findings.
- Business development experience (e.g. tracking opportunities and writing high quality proposals for donors), or a willingness to develop this skill.
- Experience in web or app development (e.g., Android, PHP, Java, MySQL), and/or a tech-literate Business Analyst, who can write a functional spec and business process, and work with developers to get it built.
- Language skills: French or Arabic languag
