We are looking to recruit a Colour Supervisor to join our specialist team on a part time, permanent basis, Monday to Friday 25 hours per week between 7am - 4pm. The successful applicant will require a degree of specialist knowledge of yarns, fibres and colour as well as knowledge of Quality Management Standards. The role includes the management of the colour recipe databases, use of testing equipment and training members of the production team in order to develop colour knowledge and competency across the business.

**Main responsibilities Include**:

- Responsibility for colour development and product development in line with Customer requirements
- Responsibility for the training of Colour Technicians on Shift, ensuring that they understand the key aspects of producing coloured fibre to the required standards.
- Assisting the Production Planner and Shift Management Team to plan efficient colour changes to avoid unnecessary waste, where required.
- Ensuring test equipment is calibrated.
- Ensuring a high standard of housekeeping is maintained within the lab and that areas are kept in a safe operating condition.
- Testing & analysing yarn and fibre samples (for new developments, and complaints).
- Maintain colour recipes.
- Performing a variety of administrative and clerical tasks. Maintaining and storing colour records as required, preparing reports and maintaining appropriate filing systems.
- Responsibility for own HSE performance and that of his/her colleagues
- Complying with all issued Safe Systems of Work and adherence to all safety rules.
- Contribute to the maintenance of the quality and environmental management systems including the internal and external audit programs.
- Acting as a Technical point of contact for the Sales Team and occasional liaison with external customers.

**Key Skills & Experience Required**:

- Qualified to degree level in Colour Science, Polymer Science, Chemistry or equivalent.
- Practical understanding of ISO9001 & ISO14001, internal auditor status preferred.
- Experience gained in materials, têxtile, composite or similar industries.
- Knowledge of product chemistry and processes.
- Awareness of compliance and due diligence matters
- Knowledge and ability to test fibres and yarn (for quality and development).
- Technical competence in fibres, polymer chemistry.
- Strong organisational skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills to document work and produce reports of a good standard.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 20-30 per week

**Salary**: £30,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
