We are looking for a highly motivated Band 3 Activity Worker to be part of a multi-disciplinary team, providing positive care for our service users on an inpatient ward.
Working on the ward the post-holder will be supervised and will work with the ward team to co-ordinate a programme of meaningful ward activities based on service user choice.
Training will be provided and post holders will be expected to participate in their own skill development.
To support the clinical team in providing a meaningful and therapeutic day for the patient group by providing diversional activities, support and practical assistance without the direct supervision of qualified staff. These activities will take on the ward in the inpatient setting, but also some community activities will be require
To contribute to the effective running of the ward, undertaking appropriate basic nursing and housekeeping tasks to a high standard.
Ensure the ward diversity of the patients is reflected on the ward with arranging activities and decorating the environment in therapeutic groups for various holidays.
To establish and maintain a rapport with patients, carers, relatives and visitors and to contribute to a positive and welcoming atmosphere.

Initiate, plan and provide a range of diversional activities that are suitable to our patient groups needs and will assist the nursing staff in their assessment of mental health needs.
To support the clinical team in creating a therapeutic environment and providing structure to a patient’s day, planning an delivering appropriate activities and encouraging patients to engage.
To ensure effective communicational with the clinical team, accurately reporting observations and changes in an individual’s presentation, both through verbal and written reporting mechanisms.
To undertake any appropriate nursing care duties as delegated by qualified staff in order to meet the basic needs of the patient group or to maintain the care environment.
In the event of emergency situation, take any necessary action required according to procedures and protocols to ensure the health and safety of others.
Undertake specific tasks to support carers of clients as agreed with qualified staff without direct supervision.
