**About us**:
The UCL Dementia Research Centre (DRC) is a hub for clinical research into various forms of dementia. Our work focuses on identifying and understanding the disease processes that cause dementia, the factors that influence these disease processes, and how best to support people with dementia and their families. In addition to our research, we also provide a cognitive disorders clinic within the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery.

Rare Dementia Support (RDS) is a UCL-led collaborative service offering specialist social, emotional and practical support services for individuals living with, or affected by, a rare dementia diagnosis. Our vision is for all individuals with, at risk of or supporting someone with one of these forms of dementia to have access to information, tailored support and guidance, and contact with others affected by similar conditions. RDS is provided by the UCL Dementia Research Centre (DRC) at the Queen Square Institute of Neurology and the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery - where the post is based - and partners, and funded by The National Brain Appeal.

**About the role**:
You will provide administrative support to the RDS team. This will involve a range of duties and responsibilities working with RDS team members, external partners and RDS members. The post is offered on a hybrid basis with an expectation that you will be on site for 40-60% of the working week. You will be required to occasionally work on Saturdays and some evenings to attend support group related activities which are usually held off-site in Central London.

The post is available from 01 September 2023 and funded by a donation from the National Brain Appeal until 31 March 2024 in the first instance.

A full job description and person specification for this role can be accessed below.

**About you**:
You should have GCSE grade 5-9 in Maths and English (or equivalent evidence of excellent literacy and numeracy skills) and experience of working in university, hospital, or third sector environments. IT proficiency, excellent oral and written communication skills, strong problem-solving and organisational abilities, and good interpersonal skills are essential. A very high level of consideration and care for patients and research participants and an interest in rare dementias diagnoses and their impact are also a requirement.

This role does not meet the eligibility requirements for a Skilled Worker Visa certificate of sponsorship under UK Visas and Immigration legislation. Therefore UCL will not be able to sponsor individuals who require right to work in the UK to carry out this role.
