Due to one of the two Community Resilience Coordinators being recruited to a more senior position within the council, the new postholder will be joining Housing & Communities at an exciting and challenging time, given the ongoing cost of living crisis. They will work with internal colleagues and partner organisations to develop and deliver a range of project / improvement activities to better support residents and will also support delivery of council mainstream schemes. The responsibilities will include but are not limited to
- work with key partners including food banks, wider food aid organisations and via the Food & Advice Providers Forum to jointly develop and deliver a range of actions that will improve food offers / more than food offers, respond to gaps, and increase awareness of available provision
- Developing ,coordinating and monitoring a range of project activities, using external funding where available and managing staff when appropriate to deliver support schemes ( e.g., Household Support Fund or equivalent )
- Supporting delivery and development of internal Discretionary Financial Hardship Schemes ( e.g. Local Welfare Provision and Discretionary Housing Payments)
- Supporting and helping to deliver wider council and partner activities that improve financial resilience and community resilience

The postholder will need to be able to work flexibly and manage competing and often changing priorities. The post is initially being offered for an 18-month period with any continuation beyond that based on a review of priorities and available funding
