This position is for a small but ambitious charity based in Surrey which works to encourage people to feel passionate about nature and ensure a sustainable future for the local environment and wildlife. The role reports into the brilliant and dedicated CEOand is the perfect opportunity for someone who can run and lead the finance department of an organisation. This permanent Director of Finance position is responsible for managing the Finance team with responsibility for all governance matters and will be fullyaccountable to the board of trustees. Whilst managing a team of four, duties for the role will include:

- Oversee the charity’s strategy and recognise fundraising and key financial issues.
- Create and present the charity’s annual accounts.
- Produce and regularly review financial forecasting for the charity.
- Lead the annual budgeting process ensuring all budget holders take active responsibility for planning and costs.
- Be responsible for budgeting and monitoring of income and expenditure whilst leading a robust financial planning process.
- Engage with budget holders, the leadership team and the CEO on a regular basis.

This role will be based at the organisations head office in Surrey, 15 minutes away from Woking. Hybrid working will be offered and occasional travel between the organsiations various sites might also be required from time to time.
- Providing finance information, annual reports and accounts to the Board.
- Charity accounting SORP and leading on the annual audit.
- Management of a small team.
- Excellent communication skills with Stakeholders of all levels.
- Risk management and providing information for bids and tenders within the charity.
