Trainee Door Fabricator

Birmingham Garage & Industrial Doors Ltd have a position for a trainee door fabricator to join our garage door manufacturing team. An ideal role for someone looking to learn skills in manufacturing/fabrication at an established company making high quality products.

The successful applicant will be trained in all aspects of the job from the ground up. The job involves learning each stage of production process spending 6 -12 months learning each role. As each door is bespoke, applicants will need to be mindful of attention to detail and being able to follow instructions carefully. Applicants will be trained to use a variety of tools and machines as well as general manufacturing and engineering processes and skills.

Applicants need to be literate and numerate and able to read a measuring tape. Being physically fit is advised as some heavy lifting may be involved. Any training or education in metal work, wood work or any form of engineering is highly desirable.

Working hours are 37.5 hours a week with early finish on a Friday, with some overtime required, dependant on the current workload.
