At Honda we embrace inclusion in our various policies, so whilst our contracts state that the hours are as required to fulfil the role with a minimum of 35 hours per week, we offer flexibility for when you work. The regular office hours are 08:00 - 16:00 Monday to Thursday with a half hour lunch break & 08:00 - 13:00 on a Friday. However, we offer flexibility of when you work with our daily flex-time start of between 07:00 and 11:00 providing that there is no business requirement.

Whilst there is no contractual right to work from home, the flexibility we offer is that you can request to work from home for a maximum of 50% of the working days in any one month, again providing there is no business requirement to attend the office.

**Role**
- The Data Protection Contractor will support the Honda Motor Europe Regional and Local Data Protection managers to achieve compliance with Data Protection Regulations in UK and Europe operations.
- In this role you will be expected to be able to grasp the complexity of personal data management and compliance with the legal requirements affecting HME Headquarters and our UK & European operations.
- The goal is to ensure ongoing compliance and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our compliance in the Europe Region (including Africa and Middle East) through the design, configuration, testing and implementation of Records of Processing Activities through OneTrust platform’s Data Mapping module. Through designing and configuring the Data Mapping module of OneTrust to facilitate existing processes; Asset Register, Privacy Impact Assessment, Legitimate Interest Assessment, Data Transfer Assessment (and related Importer Questionnaire), including testing before implementation to achieve a fully collated and self-maintaining ROPA solution and repository.

**Main Responsibilities**

As a Data Protection Analyst (DPA) for European Region:

- To help foster a data protection culture within European region
- Support migrating Records of Processing including by process and system owners, across Headquarters and Branches to a central register (OneTrust a commercial software package specialised in privacy management) through the design, configuration, testing, implementation, administration and monitoring of the software. This will involve a review of current processes, use, design, configuration, test and implementation of improvements to achieve a single self-maintaining ROPA repository for all personal data processing within Honda Motor Europe region.
- Monitor and support compliance with the EU and UK GDPR, along with other Member State data protection provisions and with the policies of HME in relation to the protection and use of personal data, including the assignment of responsibilities, awareness-raising and training of associates involved in processing operations,
- Support ensuring all processing of personal data in Europe region is compliant with Honda’s internal policy (Regional Privacy Policy (RPP)) and regional & local privacy regulations through regular reviews.
- Improve understanding and awareness of Data Protection by Local DPMs and associates,
- Provide support to all LDPMs in HME Branches and entities in region on data protection regulations, related guidance and internal policy & rules
- Support the Regional DPM to facilitate prevention and problem solving of data protection issues and risks, anywhere in Honda Motor

**Qualifications, Skills and Experience**

Required
- Good sound knowledge and working background in data protection; UK Data Protection Act 2018 and The GDPR for Europe Economic Area states, awareness of privacy across Africa and Middle East useful.
- Advantageous to also have configuration and administration experience of software such as Microsoft O365, SharePoint, MS Teams, Power apps
- Background or knowledge in data or process analysis and automation, management and improvement would be advantageous, including exposure to and understanding of the aims and responsibilities of business functions and support functions
- The role will suit someone who is well-organised, analytical, motivated to challenge and excellent in problem solving, able to develop relationships and work with as well as advise and challenge junior to senior associates whilst supporting the business to achieve its objectives effectively and efficiently, experienced configuring the OneTrust Data Mapping module
- Works well under pressure and to tight deadlines; planning and prioritising own time efficiently whilst maintaining high accuracy and quality is essential
- Language is English

Desirable
- Additional European languages are an advantage
- Experiences with international work desirable
- Understanding of Japanese culture and management practices is desirable.
