Job Introduction

Main Responsibilities
Your day-to-day duties will vary, and may include the following.
- Helping the public use the site in a safe manner, adhering to all Health and Safety guidance.
- Providing friendly, informative and professional customer service.
- Protecting yourself and your team by promoting high standards of health and safety.
- Safely operating equipment and machinery and reporting any faults and issues.
- Working with commercial traders, providing advice and handling payments.
- Reporting unauthorised waste depositing and promoting environmental sustainability.
- Supporting other HWRC teams as part of the Staffordshire HWRC Network. (This role will be based at Lichfield HWRC)

You'll be:

- a strong team player
- have a working knowledge of health and safety legislation and operations
- a flexible approach to duties, willing to learn and be trained
- good verbal and written communication skills - to facilitate inductions, training and communication with site staff, management, clients, contractors and the public
- Strong numerical and literacy skills and paperwork and recording skills
- An understanding of recycling and recyclable materials is an advantage
- Trained First Aider, or willing and capable of being trained
- A Full UK driving licence
- Experience in operating a above 10 ton 360 wheeled excavator. ( or willing to learn)
- Experience in the operation of Household waste recycling centres (HWRC'S)
