**Overview of the role**

We are searching for a detail-oriented, dependable operator to join our growing battery production team. A successful applicant should be able to demonstrate strong self-discipline and an ability to work effectively as part of a team of scientists, engineers and technicians.

Improvement through collaboration is key to Ilika’s ongoing success in the exciting field of solid-state battery technology. We are searching for an applicant who is willing to take initiative and look for opportunities to continuously improve our production processes.

**Responsibilities may include but are not limited to**:

- Following Standard Operation Procedures and Quality Control Processes for manufacturing, assembly and inspection operations.
- Execution of production flow operations on schedule while ensuring quality standards are met.
- Maintaining the entire work area in a clean, orderly condition up to 6-S standards.
- Proposing and implementing solutions for areas for improvement in the Company’s operations.
- Working with chemicals safely, by adhering to risk assessments and COSHH practises where required.

- Taking the initiative in proposing and implementing solutions for areas for improvement in the Company’s operations.
- Maintaining ISO standards, including peer review of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Adhere to and develop good manufacturing practice and implementation and approval of risk assessments and COSHH where appropriate.

**Job requirements**:

- Knowledge and understanding of key production processes carried out in an engineering or scientific/R&D workplace is desirable.
- Ability to follow well defined operating procedures in compliance with ISO standards to achieve high quality in a complex manufacturing environment.
- Enthusiastic learner with strong mechanical/dexterity skillset.
- Conscientious, efficient working manner with a good eye for detail and precision.
- Demonstrated ability to work well in a team as a member;
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- Good time management skills;
- Min A-level or equivalent.
- Flexibility to work occasionally at Ilika’s other facility (Chandlers Ford or Romsey).
