Chemical Laboratory Technologist

**Chemical Lab Technologist** required to join a busy lab specialising in the chemical testing of a range of consumer products. The position will be based at the company’s head offices in Kettering, Northants.

This is an office based position with the focus on technical knowledge, customer liaison and scheduling workloads.

The Chemical Laboratory houses a range of analytical equipment including GC-MS, HPLC and LC-MS testing for restricted substances and assessing the chemical properties of products against International and European standards.

**The Technologist will then be responsible for**:

- Advising customers regarding current chemical testing requirements and legislation
- Writing, sending and checking technical reports
- Discussing results with customers and producing accurate detailed reports to strict deadlines
- Responding to customer enquiries
- Preparing and following up quotations to include multiple products and cross-referencing materials
- Helping to maintain current knowledge on European, UK and US chemical legislation including writing technical articles
- Processing customer jobs and scheduling testing work
- A-level qualifications in science and / or mathematics
- Excellent organizational, time management and communication skills
- Logical and methodical approach to working and a meticulous eye for detail
- Ability to work to deadlines, organize priorities and workloads
- Excellent computer skills (MS Office)

**Beneficial qualifications / skills**:

- A degree in chemistry or related field
- Customer facing experience
