We are looking for a Head of Procurement to lead a team of procurement colleagues to shape the way the council spends its money and to respond to the Council’s needs and achieve value for money for residents.

**About the role**

This is a high-profile role requiring depth of knowledge, strategic understanding, true leadership skills, and the ability to drive positive change. You will build relationships between the team, senior stakeholders and across the council, its services and its stakeholders.

You will be joining the team at a key time, with the changes the Procurement Bill brings for the council. And this role will be instrumental in this period of exciting change and offers an opportunity for creating genuine personal, team and organisational development.

**About you**

You will have extensive experience leading procurement change and implementing strategy within local government. You will be a natural communicator, building positive working relationships with senior management and the wider organisation alongside managing and developing the team with clarity and strength.

We’re looking for someone who has a thorough understanding of procurement legislation and regulations within the public sector. You’ll also have a proven track record of effective decision-making and be personally resilient in times of change and challenge.
