Liverpool, United Kingdom University of Liverpool Full time

Applications are invited for the post of Grade 7 Lecturer in Philosophy. The appointee will provide teaching cover for Dr Katherine Furman while she undertakes research as part of the Social Credibility and Trustworthiness of Expert Knowledge and Science-Based Information (SOCRATES) centre at Leibniz University Hannover. That project, and this post, are funded by the DFG (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft).

The appointee will convene undergraduate modules on Business Ethics, Political Philosophy, Philosophy and Public Policy, and Philosophy of Race. It should be noted that while the appointee will be expected to convene these modules, he/she will not be expected to cover all of the teaching for them. He/she will also do some teaching on the MA module Philosophy and Social Change. It is likely that some work as an academic adviser to undergraduate students studying Philosophy, Politics and Economics, will be included in the appointee¿s responsibilities.

This is a one-year fixed-term position with an expected start date of 1 October 2023.
