**The team at Ortus Recruitment are looking for an experienced educator to prepare children for their future by supporting in their emotional, social and academic development. The schools we work with are Ofsted rated '**_**Good**_**' or '**_**Outstanding**_**', provide training and CPD courses to ensure career progression and offer consistent support and motivation. We are currently recruiting for a SEN Teaching Assistant to join the team in a mainstream primary school in the London Borough of Barnet.**

**Role**:SEN Teaching Assistant

**Job Type**:Full-time, Long-term, Term-Time

**Start Date**:Immediate

**About the role**:
As a **SEN Teaching Assistant**, you will be responsible for working on a 1:1 basis with a KS1 pupil that has ADHD. it will be your responsibility to maintain the pupil's focus and set boundaries and manage behaviour effectively.

The pupil also presents signs of emotional and social needs, therefore requires someone who is nurturing, patient and can help with their emotion regulation. The pupil is known to cry when feeling overwhelmed or tired and when he becomes emotional may sit on the floor and refuse to get up. The successful individual will be able to put interventions in place to manage his emotions effectively.

**SEN Teaching Assistant Requirements**:

- Bachelor's degree in Education or related qualification
- Experience working with SEN
- Experience working in classroom setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment
- Knowledge of current educational trends and best practices
