**Volunteer role description**
**Role title**

Volunteer Engagement Worker

**Purpose of the role**
Support residents to engage with their day to improve daily living.

**What you will be doing**
The role is a meaningful and engaging role, to help and support adults with Learning Difficulties and Autism, with their activities of daily living.
- Spend time with people, talking and listening and learning about them.
- Encourage them to take part in daily exercise, be ready to join in to support and have fun.
- Read stories and poetry using expression and gestures.
- Encourage hydration and good nutritional intake through the inclusion of drinks and light snacks into your support time with each person.
- Help them to eat independently or to aid them with their food and drink.
- Involve people in a range of activities, take the lead, help people to have fun in singing, dancing, puzzle building, arts and crafts. Bring your own ideas.
- Document your time with each person into our electronic care recording system.

- Work within Adult Safeguarding protocols (full training will be provided)
- Be open, honest, and trustworthy.
