Instrument Technician

My client is a large independent chemical manufacturer and distributor, who are in need of an Instrument Technician to support their site in West Thurrock.

On offer is a competitive hourly rate, equivalent to £43,430 per annum based on an average of 45 hours per week, and an extensive benefits package which includes 30 days holiday, company pension, private medical insurance, life assurance and more

As an Instrument Technician:

- You will be responsible for the safe operation of all control and instrumentation related equipment on site. Working with the Plant Supervisor, respond to any breakdown of the plant and completing all maintenance work to the correct standard, ensuring safeoperation is maintained.
- You'll have a positive approach and a can-do attitude to all tasks and be familiar with technical documentation and diagrams such as schematics and manuals, and able to maintain backup and revision documentation for control systems and instrumentation.
- You'll be confident installing, configuring, calibrating and maintaining control, measurement and indication instrumentation (to include pressure, flow, temperature, level transmitters, analysers, sensors, detectors, signal conditioners, controllers andfinal control elements.)
- You will have sound understanding and experience of maintaining PLCs.
- You'll be able to remove, repair, adjust and replace components, install and terminate instrument and electrical connections, and inspect and test the operation of instruments and systems to diagnose faults.

This is a day shift position, working 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday.
