Founded in 1901, The Club is the oldest and largest in the world for all forms of camping. We are a leading UK membership organisation and are Not For Profit. We provide a wealth of products and services covering all aspects of camping and caravanning in the United Kingdom and abroad.

We operate a network of 100 UK campsites, with 200 employees based in our modern Coventry Office (the majority are hybrid working) and 600 employees who work and live on our sites seasonally. The HR department supports all these employees so each day can be extremely varied.

As well as being the most senior HR professional in the business the Head of People manages a department that includes HRBPs, Learning and Development, Payroll, Recruitment and a dedicated Administration team.

Our Head of People works with other ‘Heads of’ across departments and reports into our Senior Leadership Team (Board of Directors), advising on our people strategy and delivering this through effective business partnering as well as the immediate team.

**Main duties and responsibilities**:

- Through effective leadership, coaching and listening, empower the team to excel in their roles, by guiding, supporting, setting objectives, and monitoring and managing performance
- Understand the Club’s goals and build strong collaborative working relationships with Directors and managers at all levels across the organisation to help deliver them
- To work with the organisation to promote high employee engagement, supported by a championing approach to employee wellbeing, benefits and reward and recognition
- Advise and support the business by providing expert guidance on all aspects of HR and Employment Law, both current practice and future developments.
- Taking a key advisory role in more complex cases and providing relevant and up to date guidance, working with third party experts if necessary.
- Oversee investigations and complex employee relations issues including redundancy, TUPE and grievance situations, with responsibility for the management of any Employee tribunals
- Think creatively, engage relevant stakeholders, put forward options and solve problems
- At least 5 years’ experience in a senior HR role, directly managing a multi-disciplinary HR Team
- Qualified member of CIPD, with evidence of Continued Professional Development
- Experience of developing and delivering HR strategies that have delivered results for a business
- Excellent working knowledge of UK employment legislation and employment tribunals
- Provides a professional service and is recognised as an expert in their field
- Strong influencing and negotiation skills
- Encouraging and supportive of the team around them
