**Role Overview**
Advance Welding is expanding its operations and we currently looking for an individual to join our dedicated Production and Test team in the role of Workshop Operative.
Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, you will be trained to assemble and test a variety of product ranges from our standard range of AC welders that have been produced for over 15 years to our revolutionary new battery powered welder. Advance Welding also offer a comprehensive range of spare parts and mechanical tooling which are manufactured and assembled in a similar way to our finished products.
All of our products are assembled according to our digital build instructions using standard tools and equipment. No special electronics knowledge is required, just the willingness to observe and learn.
As part of the workshop team, you will use our wide range of build instructions to achieve consistent results which will be checked by our quality team who you will work closely with, to make sure they’re of the high standard which our customers have come to expect.
Advance Welding are a forward-thinking company and value our employee’s feedback. As a part of your day-to-day duties, you may be required to assist our Research and Development team by helping them test and assemble new products and features. You are also required to assist our quality team as and when required.

**Job type**:Full Time, Permanent
**Pay**:Starting at £10.50 per hour with a Rate review on successful completion of initial probationary and training period.
**Hours**:39 Hoursplus overtime as required
Monday to Thursday - 7.30am - 4.00pm
Friday - 7.30am - 3.00pm
**Location**:Cleckheaton, West Yorkshire, BD19 5DZ
**Based**:Working within the workshop.
**Working Environment**
In your role, there are a mixture of assembly and test techniques that would be required of you, from close soldering work and sub-assembly manufacture which is normally performed at an assembly station but also more physically demanding jobs such as rolling and cutting cable, final assembly and moving equipment, once built. The weight of these machines varies up to 20kg. From time-to-time, we do manufacture heavier machines which would require two people to lift.

Full training for the role will be given by our staff internally through coaching and mentoring. You may also be required to perform additional training such as First Aid, Mental Health, Fire Marshal or Forklift. Most training is performed on site however some training is performed off site.
Advance Welding are part of the Indutrade group of companies, we have a wide choice of training courses for a variety of skills which you might be offered if we believe it will help, this will require going our group headquarters in Manchester. All traveling expenses are re-imbursed.

**Duties**
- Adhere to our health and safety guidelines, making sure to work to a safe standard.
- Always observe good housekeeping, ensuring a clean working environment
- Follow digital build instructions on every task to ensure the work is completed to our high-quality standards and raising any queries with our quality team.
- Be prepared to use and inspect sub-assemblies your team members have built, checking they meet our quality standards before you use them in a final assembly.
- Work with a variety of tools I.e., soldering iron, crimping machines, test equipment, compressed airlines and pillar drills to name a few, which are designed for the task at hand.
- Be prepared for a full range of task types; from preparing and cutting cable, crimping of wires, soldering, making sub-assemblies, assembling and cleaning cases/metal work and final assembly before the machines are taken by our testing team
