**Main**Purpose**of**Role**:
The Material Handler is responsible for the movement of materials through the facility whilst maintaining and improving stock accuracy and integrity. The Materials Handlers will form a highly focused, knowledgeable team that will provide excellent service to internal and external customers. Reporting into the Logistics MBU Manager.

**Main Duties & Responsibilities**:
Distribution:

- Correctly binning and locating parts into the Distribution warehouse
- Picking orders according to picking lists
- Packing orders to specification
- Loading vehicles to match dispatch paperwork
Raw Material Fulfilment:

- Unloading vehicles and checking goods against delivery paperwork
- Inspecting & receipting stock onto the AX system with a focus on accuracy and quality standards
- Correctly binning & issuing stock from storage areas with knowledge of flushing principles
- Picking orders according to picking lists Galv and Paint Process Management:

- Loading and unloading vehicles
- Correctly shipping / receipting goods onto the AX system to match the physical movement of material
- Work to a daily priority schedule to expedite urgent parts
- Report on any supplier failures on a daily basis Job aspects applicable to all areas will be:

- Ensure that all Health and safety rules are strictly adhered to at all times
- Undertake daily Inventory Cycle Counting and resolving discrepancies
- Ensure 5s standards are maintained daily
- Ensure the data integrity of the material control system is maintained at all times
- Ensure standard work methods are followed at all times
- Interfacing with other departments relating to the control or movement of materials Metrics: Performance measures (KPIs) for the Team are:

- H & S 0 Lost time accidents and 100% of all near misses or incidents to be reported
- Productivity In line with the daily output expectations of the Materials Cell Lead
- Team flexibility Monitored through the Materials skills matrix
- Stock accuracy and Integrity of the material control system

**Person Specification/Profile**:

- Numerate with excellent attention to detail (Desirably Maths GCSE Level A*-C)
- Computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
- Experience of MRP / ERP systems through both understanding principles and carrying out transactions
- Ability to gain comprehensive product knowledge
- Willingness to understand Company procedures relating to Material Control
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles would be a positive attribute
- Can make correct personal decisions and organisational skills
- Determined and flexible with a high sense of urgency
- Team orientated
- License to operate forklift, VNA and reach trucks would be a positive attribute
- Flexibility of hours will be required
