**Job summary**:
The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) is responsible for welfare, pensions and child maintenance policy. As the UK’s biggest public service department it administers a range of working age, pension age, disability and ill health benefits to over 20 million claimants and customers.

**Role Information**

**There are three roles available within DWP Finance Group which are**:
Head of the Annual Reports and Accounts Team.

Head of the Child Maintenance Group Accounts Team.

Head of the Funding Control Team.

Each role needs a leader that is equally at home with technical accounting leadership as well collaborating with key stakeholders both externally and across the Department. You will have excellent stakeholder engagement experience and be a strategic operator. These roles will provide an opportunity to work with senior colleagues across Government and deliver against a set of rewarding and challenging outcomes.

DWP operate hybrid working where an employee works part of the week in their DWP office and part of the week from home. This is a voluntary, non-contractual arrangement and your office will be your contractual place of work. The number of days that anyone will be able to work at home will be determined primarily by business need but personal circumstances and other relevant circumstances will also be taken into account.

Please be aware that this role can only be worked in the UK and not overseas.

**Job description**:
**Head of the Annual Reports and Accounts Team**
- Be responsible for the timely laying of high-quality Annual Report and Accounts, ensuring compliance with HM Treasury and IFRS standards.
- Delivery of other key reports including the statutory Social Fund Account, the Department’s contribution to the Whole of Government Accounts and the production of an accounting statement for the Scottish Government for their devolved benefits.
- Lead on the relationship with the National Audit Office in the submission of information to them, the accounting and disclosures within the ARA and ensuring the audit is facilitated within the overarching ARA plan.
- Building and sustaining relationships with senior stakeholders including Analysts, Policy, Legal, Service Delivery, Private Offices and Finance Business Partners.

**Head of the Child Maintenance Group Accounts Team**
- Be responsible for the timely laying of high-quality Client Funds Accounts ensuring compliance with HM Treasury directions and accounting standards.
- Collaboration with partners within the Child Maintenance Group.
- Lead on the relationship with the National Audit Office in the submission of information to them, the accounting and disclosures within the accounts and ensuring the audit is facilitated within the overarching timeline and plan.
- Building and sustaining relationships with senior stakeholders including Analysts, Policy, Legal, Service Delivery, Private Offices and Finance Business Partners.

**Head of the Funding Control Team**
- Build strong relationships with HM Treasury and be lead contact for issues relating to Estimates and Funding Control.
- Delivery of the Main and Supplementary Estimates for the Department to HM Treasury along with associated products.
- Lead the input to the Annual Report and Accounts for the Statement of Parliamentary Supply.
- Building and sustaining relationships with senior stakeholders across Finance Group and HM Treasury.
