The Triage Advisor role is an integral role in the Gloucestershire Carers Hub team that provides support for carers and is usually the first point of contact with them. The Triage Advisor will provide person-centred information, advice, signposting and undertake holistic assessments of Carers needs.

A confidential, empathetic listening service is important to offer emotional support to carers, and to refer to other support services, or the wider team as necessary. Triage Advisors discuss contingency planning for the future and what to do in emergencies with carers, this includes registering them, on the Carers Emergency Scheme.

**Have you got what it takes?**

You should have a passion for what you do along with relevant experience of providing emotional and practical support towards people or carers to motivate and ensure they get the support they need. You will also introduce the services of the Carers Hub to ensure carers can identify and access solutions, that will support their caring role.

**ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE**
- Level 2 Award in Information, Advice or Guidance (QCF) or equivalent
- or the willingness to work toward this
- Excellent customer service skills
- Microsoft and IT literate
- Knowledge of the of health, social care, voluntary and community resources that offer support
- Highly skilled communicator
- Able to use a solution focused approach
