**Position Statement**

The warehouse assistant is responsible for the effective execution of goods in and goods out. Along with maintaining a healthy and safe warehouse environment.

**Role Description**

**Duties**:
1. To coordinate and maintain an effective goods out service

2. To coordinate and maintain an effective goods in service

3. Maintain health & safety and effective warehouse and despatch environment

4. Complete all team and business activities to contribute to a high standard of performance and customer service

5. Carry out collections where required form suppliers

6. Carry out deliveries to projects where required

**Training Support**:

- A clear training and induction plan will be carried out to ensure you get a clear and structured training into the role
- Appropriate bespoke training required to fulfil the role and to develop will be made available

**Requirements/Duties**:

- Appropriately pick and pack goods using the packaging, labels & boxes available to parcel up goods in line with company processes
- Identify and report on packaging stock levels
- Communicate/liaise with couriers & purchasing
- Complete and populate all paperwork/systems as necessary
- Receive, check and process all goods in
- Place items in warehouse in appropriate areas
- Undertake all works neatly and efficiently
- Maintain a tidy, clean and safe warehouse area
- Preparing, assembling to complete customer orders as necessary
- Report any health and safety issues to the Managing Director
- Contribute and assist in regular stock takes
- Provide guidance, support and communicate to other members of staff
- To communicate effectively and proficiency with collegues
- Attend training & development activities recommended by the company for your own personal development and to enhance business performance
- Contribute to your appraisal and other ad-hoc development activities
- Undertake all works as detailed in the businesses process and procedure documentation
- Continually assess performance, efficiency and effectiveness of your business processes and identify improvements to working practices, reporting these to your line manager
- Undertake any other activities as requested by the management team designed to maximise custom and execute effective business operations.

**Performance Objectives**

**1.** To ensure we hit (D)OTIF target (On Time In Full)

**2.**Receive delivery, process and unpack all goods received in, placing in warehouse or despatch area within 4 business hours

**3.**Ensure warehouse is kept tidy, safe & clean at all times.

**Experience, Skills, Qualifications and Personal Qualities**

**Experience**
- You should have experience of working within a warehouse/despatch operation and be familiar with warehouse/despatch processes.

**Skills**
- You will be capable in IT and be able to learn new systems quickly, identify and implement improvements to existing systems and support team members with IT queries.
- You will demonstrate excellent and common sense time management skills and will be able to prioritise orders and working activities successfully.
- You will demonstrate a good level of communication to internal and external customers including face to face, written and telephone-based conversation.
- You will need to display high levels of accuracy and attention to detail.

**Qualifications**
- A Fork Lift licence would be desirable but is not essential.
- A UK driving licence

**Personal Qualities**
- You will need to have a can-do attitude with high levels of personal motivation and have confidence and energy.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time

**Salary**: From £11.00 per hour
