And they have to keep ahead of our customers too: second-guessing what they want and need before they do. As a Category Assistant you will monitor and maintain sales figures whilst constantly striving to provide insight to senior management and the buying teams to deliver competitive advantage.

We do things our own way at Aldi. But whatever we're doing, we must be getting it right. With a wave of impressive sales figures behind us, we're opening new stores at lightning speed. And to keep on top of that wave, our buying teams have to do something pretty special to keep our customers coming back for more.

The Category Team is responsible for the management, interpretation and dissemination of market data throughout the business to enable informed strategic decision-making. The insights we prepare and the data we share are used everywhere from individual buying desks to the boardroom, telling the story of where we’re winning and where there are opportunities for our business to grow.

We are customer-focused and handle increasingly complex data sources to help bring the ALDI shoppers’ voice to the table, anywhere that decisions that will affect our shoppers are being made.

Reporting to the Senior Category Manager, this role involves preparing and circulating a variety of category reports, often to tight deadlines and always with precise attention to detail.

**Your New Role**
- Responsible for producing weekly and monthly reports that translate market data from multiple sources into actionable insights for a variety of stakeholders
- Passionate about the quality of your reports, and continually strive to improve their effectiveness
- Build strong, strategic relationships across all parts of the National Buying and National Customer Interaction departments, providing expert insight to inform key business decisions
- Work closely with external parties and service providers to become an expert in the services they offer
- Use your own data analysis to evaluate market performance and generate insights and recommendations that are grounded in customer data
- Ensure all projects within your areas of responsibility are delivered on time, within budget and aligned to the agreed scope
- Actively manage your areas of responsibility by using initiative, and suggesting ways of improving processes and systems for greater efficiency
- Assist the Category team with testing of new procedures and systems
- Ensure adherence to all legal requirements, Health and Safety and Due Diligence measures in your area of responsibility

**About You**
- Preparation of senior level reports
- Excel and PowerPoint super-user
- Experience in FMCG sector
- Ability to turn data into actionable insights
- Excellent analytical skills
- Strong communicator
- Ability to combine multiple data sources into clear and complementary insight
- Ability to create and deliver compelling market analysis
- Comfortable dealing with complex data
- High levels of accuracy
- Able to cope with multiple tasks
- Able to work under pressure and deliver against short deadlines
- Can deliver solutions autonomously
- High levels of initiative and proactivity

**What You’ll Get in Return**
- Salary starting from £36,080 rising to £42,135
- Monday to Friday, 8am to 4:30pm, with the opportunity of 2 days a week remote working
