Kennel Assistant

We are looking for a reliable hard working responsible person to join our team. You will be required to work 34 hours a week divided into 4, 8.05 hours per day this will include working every other weekend and being able to do overtime in our busy periods and cover holidays. You must be within a 10 mile radius and have own transport due to the rural location.

You will be providing daily care for all types of dogs so must be confident in handling all shapes, sizes and personalities. Ability to handle and restrain animals safely and effectively is a must. Daily duties include cleaning, feeding, watering, grooming and exercising. You may need to administer medications as directed and monitor all the animals and report any concerns.
Clean and maintain kennel areas to ensure a safe and sanitary environment for the animals
You must be able to assist with customer service tasks such as answering phone calls and providing information about our servicesyou must have customer service skills to interact with pet owners in a professional and compassionate manner

Physical ability to preform heavy lifting and being on your feet for extended periods of time outside in all weather.

Previous experience in a animal care setting is preferred with a NVQ in animal care

Note: This is a very hard but rewarding position for the right person.
