Job overview

An exciting position has arisen within the Community Mental Health Team based at Tonna Hospital. The post holder will be responsible for providing a comprehensive, confidential, high quality secretarial administration support to the Consultants, junior doctors and the nursing team. They will work as part of the administration team within the Community Mental Health Team.

There will be an ask to help cover other departments within Tonna.

The post holder will carry out reception duties in a polite and courteous manner, having an awareness of customer care needs. Exchange information with patients, relatives and staff whilst maintaining confidentiality.

Assist with developing and maintain efficient and effective systems to ensure the smooth running of the office. Open and distribute mail as appropriate.

Make and take telephone calls from patients and relatives and actions as appropriate within the limits of responsibility. Ensure that messages are passed to the appropriate team members / medical staff in a timely fashion. Regularly and compassionately deal with distressed patients and relatives.

File and retrieve health records ensuring they are kept in compliance with the Health Board Policies and Procedures.

Ensure work is undertaken and prioritized appropriately. Ensure the Health Board Security and Confidentiality Policy is adhered to at all times.

Develop the practice of working with colleagues as an integrated team within the Mental Health Services and provide cover for colleagues during periods of absence as appropriate as requested.
