**Position Overview**: We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Hygiene Team Leader to join our team at our food manufacturing facility. The Hygiene Team Leader will play a crucial role in overseeing and coordinating all aspects of hygiene and sanitation to meet regulatory requirements and uphold our company's hygiene standards. This position requires strong leadership skills, knowledge of food hygiene standards, and a proactive approach to maintaining cleanliness in a food production environment.

**Hours of work**:
40 hours per week - Shift is 10 hours every Sunday and remaining hours to be worked Monday to Saturday dependent upon rota.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Team Management**:

- Lead and supervise the hygiene team, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure adherence to hygiene protocols and procedures.
- Schedule and assign tasks to team members, ensuring adequate coverage and efficient utilisation of resources.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members to promote continuous improvement.
- **Hygiene Operations**:

- Work with the Hygiene manager to develop and implement comprehensive hygiene plans and procedures to maintain cleanliness and prevent contamination in all areas of the facility.
- Conduct regular inspections of production areas, equipment, and facilities to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with food safety standards.
- Coordinate with production and maintenance teams to schedule cleaning activities and minimize disruption to operations.
- **Sanitation Compliance**:

- Ensure compliance with all relevant food safety regulations, including HACCP, GMP, and BRC guidelines.
- Maintain accurate records of cleaning activities, chemical usage, and equipment maintenance to demonstrate compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Implement corrective actions in response to non-conformances or deviations from hygiene standards.
- **Quality Assurance**:

- Collaborate with quality assurance personnel to develop and implement quality control measures related to hygiene and sanitation.
- Monitor product quality and hygiene standards throughout the production process and take corrective action as needed to prevent contamination or defects.
- **Continuous Improvement**:

- Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains in hygiene operations.
- Implement best practices and innovative solutions to enhance hygiene standards and streamline cleaning processes.

**Qualifications**:

- Previous experience in a similar role within the food manufacturing industry, with a strong emphasis on hygiene and sanitation.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and supervise a team effectively.
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to maintaining cleanliness and sanitation.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, sanitation equipment, and best practices for food facility hygiene.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while prioritizing tasks effectively.
- Relevant certifications in food safety and sanitation are preferred.
