**This opening assignment is for 2-3 months**
**Key Responsibilities**:

- Support Contract Management - Places officers in the investigation of complaints, enquires and service requests ensuring that they are dealt with in an efficient and effective manner and in accordance with the service’s prescribed business processes and procedures.
- Manage, maintain and update all service operating systems on a daily basis ensuring that modifications to route sheets, lock out sheets, special collections, new properties, waste & other Place assets, abandoned vehicles and service & contract data is accurate and provides for good record keeping.
- Provide advice, assistance and guidance, via verbal and written means, to residents and other interested parties on the authority’s waste collection, recycling and other Place services.
- Liaise with collection contract management and supervision on a regular basis regarding missed collections, work requests, complaints and public enquiries to ensure that all aspects of service delivery are carried out in accordance with agreed processes and procedures.
- Liaise with customer contact centre on a regular basis to notify of service changes, to provide advice and guidance and to ensure service performance issues are brought to the attention of officers for rectification.
- Support officers in the administration, monitoring and management of the contractor’s and other Place service’s performance, to identify areas of non-compliance or poor performance and produce data to enable corrective or improvement measures to be instigated
- Collate, compile and reconcile service, finance, tonnage and performance data, to enable officers to accurately evaluate assess performance and to allow the accurate and timely accounting of contract charges
- Provide support for the ordering and purchasing of goods and services, keeping comprehensive records of all transactions and stock and providing officers with accurate data to enable timely and precise budget commitment.
- Assist as requested with providing support at presentations, road shows, councils meetings and awareness raising events, supporting officers on site as necessary.
- Assist in the development of initiatives to improve service delivery by identifying households and areas (including Household Waste Recycling Centre’s) with collection problems and by supporting the implementation and mobilisation of improvement projects
- Ensure Waste Management and Health & Safety legislation is followed; assist in the production of procedures to ensure that the service complies with statutory duties on all aspects and take appropriate precautions to ensure public safety, protection of the environment and compliance with legislation.

**Qualifications**:

- Good level of IT - ECDL or equivalent.
- Educated to good standard.

**Skills & Experience**:

- Minimum of 12 months recent experience in a similar role, or context and ideally within a public sector organisation.
- Experience of providing technical support in a local authority service area relevant to the post.
- Experience of responding positively and courteously to members of the public.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Good lev Ability to work under broad policies and procedures to achieve results
- Able to deal with conflict and confrontation politely and effectively.
- Able to keep accurate and timely records el of literacy and numeracy (level 3 or above).
- Strong IT skills including Microsoft packages or equivalent (e.g. G Suite).
