**Family Liaison Worker (Pembrokeshire)**

**(£10.50ph for 720 hours per year (approx. 15hrs a week)**

We are looking for a staff member to work the 2 new clubs with the activity workers but also to assist the Project Manager with admin, bookings, visiting venues and attending Peer Support Group meetings

**Aims of the job(s)**:
For our members who are autistic or who have learning difficulties/disabilities and/or their families to be empowered and supported to engage and connect in the community.

**You will do this by**:

- Supporting them with form filling (DLA/PIP) etc (if applicable to your role)
- Displaying a caring, sensitive, understanding and approachable nature.
- Being organised, punctual, committed and able communicate well
- Being able to travel to different locations within your local borough (Wokingham/West Berks or Pembrokeshire)
- At all times acting in a professional manner towards members, their parents, staff, volunteers and members of the public that we may come into contact with.
- Working in accordance with our Policies and Procedures
- Signposting members to other organisations within the borough

**Activity Support staff will also to this by**:

- Being able to have FUN with our members
- Leading/delivering activities in line with our funding agreement that meet the social, emotional, physical and intellectual needs of our young people.
- Positively helping our members to develop social skills and confidence at their own pace (this includes you participating in sessions and role modelling)
- Helping to create a warm and friendly atmosphere within the sessions, which allows & encourages our young people to develop and participate in the running of the sessions.
- Ensuring sessions run to strict safeguarding, health & safety and COVID 19 requirements.
- Supporting young people during sessions and enabling them to get the most out of them
- Empowering and enabling our young people to engage in the community
- Positively helping our young people to develop social skills and confidence at their own pace (this includes you participating in sessions and role modelling)

**SAFEGUARDING**
- To be responsible for ensuring the Safeguarding of our members
- To promptly report any information, issues or concerns regarding safeguarding, support, wellbeing or behaviour of our members and also staff/volunteers to the Safeguarding Lead or your Line Manager

**TEAM WORK**
- You should be able to work on your own initiative and be confident supporting our members
- You should be a positive role model to our members, parents, carers, staff & volunteers
- To participate in appropriate training and committed to ongoing personal development
- To attend meetings (paid) as required by the Adult Support Manager

**ADMINISTRATION TASKS**
- To complete accurate & timely reports for any incidents, first aid or safeguarding
- To keep a confidential record/observations of progress (where applicable)

**HEALTH & SAFETY (Activity Support Workers)**
- Administer first aid / medication as required (training provided)
- To be familiar with the risk assessments for each session & able to follow these and suggest updated/adjustments as you feel appropriate.
- Be able to identify risks and notify the Project Manager immediately
- Be responsible for Health & Safety during the sessions
- To wear the correct uniform and PPE (Covid) if required during sessions

**EXPERIENCE REQUIRED**
- Experience of working with individuals who are autistic or who have learning difficulties/disabilities is advantageous (but training can be given).
- Experience working with Microsoft Office 365 (One Drive, Outlook, Word, Excel primarily), but training can be given
- Sessions may at times be online (using Zoom or Teams), so you will need to be comfortable using these platforms to work with our members (training is given).

**TRAINING PROVIDED**
- You will need to have an enhanced DBS check (we can do this for you).
- Safeguarding and Prevent training is required (we can provide this).
- Paediatric First Aid training is required (we can provide this).

We are a ‘User Led’ independent and voluntary group created by parents/carers in 2005.

We offer support, advice and activities for autistic individuals and/or those with other learning disabilities or difficulties

We run a variety of activities for autistic throughout the week, as well as supporting autistic adults/families on a one-to-one basis and we are increasing our team to meet the needs of our members.
