Finance Officer
We are working with a **Local Authority** in the **West Midlands** who require the interim assistance of a Finance Officer to assist with their **year-end close down**.

**Start: ASAP**

**Rate : £250 per day (via umbrella, Inside IR35)**

**Duration: Until the end of September 2023 with likely extensions**

**Hybrid working - 2 days in the office**

**Role Responsibilities**:

- Assist in carrying out a range of accounting, budgetary and financial administration duties
- Deputise for the Finance Manager where appropriate
- Maintenance and reconciliation of accounting records
- Preparation of year end accounts
- Provision of financial management information to service groups
- Compilation and review of the budgets for all council services and schools
- Prepare, calculate and notify schools of their delegated budget and forecasts
- Maintenance and development of financial records and systems
- Financial procedures relating to opening, closing, merging and amalgamating schools
- Supporting Budget Holders and Schools with budget monitoring and forecasting
- Preparation of claims for Grant and re-imbursement
- Preparation of Government returns, Treasury management, VAT and taxation
- Degree or AAT qualified Member or equivalent
- Substantial accounting and budgetary experience
