Reed Engineering have partnered with an innovative, dynamic and commercially focussed materials engineering company who develop novel silicon materials for the next generation of lithium ion batteries. They are expanding the capacity of our production pilotplant, to fulfil the ever increasing demand for their products from the top lithium ion battery manufacturers in the world.

As part of the growth of our production capacity they are looking for enthusiastic Process/Production Technicians who will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the plant including:

- Handling and preparations of raw materials and products
- Operation of the pilot plant equipment (training provided)
- the preparation of mixed metal oxide formulations for the development of lithium-ion batteries.
- Supporting internal customers from all departments
- Assembly and disassembly of plant equipment for either maintenance or troubleshooting (training provided)
- Monitoring of production processes
- Ensuring continuity of the production plant operation (24/5) by working shift patterns Monday to Friday rotating between early, lates and nights with a shift change each new week. Earlies are 6am-2pm, lates are 2pm-10am and Nights are 10 am-6 am.
- Ensuring high quality standards are maintained throughout
- Adhering to all health and safety regulations and guidance as well as promoting a safe culture
- Keeping high standards of housekeeping
- Experience and skills required_
- The position is suitable for either:_
- In either case, we are looking for enthusiastic individuals with the following skills:_

Exceptional attention to detail
Comfortable following SOPs
Comfortable working with tools (Assembly and disassembly of plant equipment)
Flexibility to work shifts and support the production activities through overtime (always agreed, never imposed)
Understanding of hazards associated with chemical reactions, pressure, temperature, gases, powders, solvents and hazardous materials handling in general (this can be taught if you have common sense and good understanding of health and safety)

**You will need your own vehicle due to the shift timings. The only exception to this is if you live within walking distance of Milton Park. Public transport will not suffice due to shift patterns.**

Terms and Rewards:

- The position is temporary for a minimum of six months, with potential to stay on an ongoing basis at the end of assignment.
- Pay is £12.31 for daytime hours (0700-1900) and £14.77 for night hours (1900-0700)
- Pay is weekly
- A slightly higher rate of pay is available on both shifts if you choose to work as an independent contractor (there is no paid holiday accrual in this instance).
