**37 hours per week, 40 weeks per year**

**About the role**

The Learner Services Team are looking to recruit motivated and enthusiastic Learner Coach to work directly with learners to provide pastoral support. As a Learner Coach you will deliver positive interventions and support to improve learners attendance, motivation, behaviour, retention and wellbeing.

Key responsibilities include:

- To build positive relationships with learners to ensure College expectations of behaviour and standards are being met.
- With tutors, identify learners at risk of withdrawal or non achievement and agree targeted interventions and support.
- Engage with parents/carers.
- Monitor absence trends and work with targeted learners to identify and remove barriers to engagement and attendance, with a particular focus on English and maths.
- Support with the delivery of positive activities and tutorial sessions.
- Refer learners to specialist internal and external support services as appropriate.
- To actively participate in the anti-bullying team.

**About the person**
- Relevant level 3 specialist qualification such as youth work or willing to work towards.
- Positive interpersonal skills, with the ability to relate to learners and deal professionally with colleagues and external agencies.
- The ability to remain calm during conflict.
- The ability to work on own initiative and also as part of a team.
